~YUMMY TO MY TUMMY: RECIPE FOR THE DAY

Doesn't this look delish?

It's Balsamic Strawberry & Chicken Pizza with Sweet Onions & Smoked Bacon, which was whipped up by closetcooking.

I really like that this clever cook riffed on the original recipe he worked from in order to show a bit of variation that's possible with it--he linked to the original, so comparing and contrasting can be done.

What better way to enjoy spring and summer strawberries than on a pizza pie? ☺

~TASTE-TEST THURSDAY: COTTON CANDY OREOS

When I found out that limited-edition Cotton Candy Oreos had just come out, I scampered quickly (oh so very quickly) over to Target (which is their exclusive retailer) to snap up a package.

First, let's just talk about how cute they are...

Nabisco could have filled some of the cookies with pink cream and some with blue cream, but no.  They did the spectacularly whimsical thing and whorled both colors together on each cookie.

*By the by, don't you just love that word--whorl? ☺
It looks like we have our Word of the Day!

Now on to equally important matters--
the taste of these treats!

I knew before eating one that only the cream, not the cookies, had the cotton candy flavoring, so I kept that in mind during my first bite.

Lo and behold, I was delighted to discover that the flavor of the cream was a perfect representation of that spun-sugar sweetness we call cotton candy.

Nope, the flavor isn't just a generic sweetness--
IT TASTES JUST LIKE COTTON CANDY!

I'd suggest eating these cookies by themselves, at least the first go-'round, so no other flavors will get in the way of discerning their flavor.  Better yet, eat the cream by itself first, and then, only then, eat the cookies.

Oh, and don't be shy about dunking them in milk--
it turns out cow juice and cotton candy go together like...like...well, like rama lamma lamma ka dinga da dinga dong!

*By the by, I think I should get an extra cookie for making a Grease reference ☺.

Make that an extra package of cookies.
