Since this past Saturday marked the transition from summer to fall, I decided to post some photos of my sweet nephew, Taric, playing with marbles and buttons
--activities which can transition from indoors to outdoors.  Marbles and buttons are such simple little items, yet they're so colorful and irresistable!

On a warm, sunny day, Taric, his grandmom, and I played a dice game, and we used a big tin of old buttons for the game pieces.  I'm sure there are all types of dice game variations, but as for us, we played something similar to Bingo.

"Play is training for the unexpected."

On a chillier day, Taric had a "ball" playing with a jarful of marbles which we bought at a local antique/consignment shop...

"Play is the exultation of the possible."
~Martin Buber~

*Disclaimer: I don't agree with all of the quotations I included in this post, at least not in their entirety.  They're simply fodder for thought!
{Thinking is always a good idea!} ☺
